Is local pickup available?

Yes. If you live in or near Squamish, BC, you can choose to pickup your RUX locally. It will not affect your total price (which included free shipping) but you can visit us for a personalized RUX hand-off and maybe swag or a beer if you time it right.

RUX is located at Squamish Design Studio, #108 - 39012 Discovery Way in Squamish. Hours vary so we’ll have to be in touch. Cheers.

What’s the timing?

We are estimating your new RUX will reach you in or before June 2021. This is a conservative estimate based on our factory timeline forecasts.

This Indiegogo campaign ends in December, and we will receive the funds 15 days later (January 2021). That allows us to place the purchase order for the world’s first product run of RUX.

What will shipping, taxes, and duties cost?

We have included free shipping for customers in Canada and the USA. For international shipments, we have absorbed a significant portion of your shipping costs, but will charge the remaining portion as listed in the shipping cost section of the checkout process. Depending on the order volume per region, we will do our best to optimize the import costs of your order, but we are not responsible for some taxes and duties that you might incur with this shipment.

Is RUX waterproof?

RUX is highly weatherproof, built for all-weather adventure. For moving gear in the back of a truck, on racks, on a camping trip, and of course boating. The bag is a waterproof tub made by RF welding TPU coated high tenacity 840D nylon and a molded EVA bottom. The bottom and lid are both laminated with PU for added durability. The lid is also molded EVA foam and has an overhanging perimeter to help keep it on and weather out. RUX is not submersible or watertight.

What are the dimensions?

RUX has 70L of volume, and the box-like shape optimizes that volume for efficient packing. When upright it’s 40cm wide x 50cm long x 35cm deep (15.7 x 19.5 x 13.8 inches). RUX 70 is large enough to go big with day-trip gear, great for loading up your vehicle for bigger excursions, and still small enough to be maneuverable so you can take advantage of RUX’s carrying and storing benefits.

When you don’t need it, save space. RUX packs flat to only 8cm (3.1 inches) deep.

I want shipping and production details.

Our factory partners estimate 90-120 days for production. We’ve partnered with pros to take care of your order fulfillment. For North American orders, RUX will travel by ocean freight from Asia to our 3PL distribution partners in Canada and the USA, where your perks will be picked, packed, and couriered to your address.

For international orders, your RUX will travel by ocean to our 3PL fulfillment partner in Hong Kong, before being shipped by air to your country and final destination.

How will you use the funds raised through Indiegogo?

With every dollar raised you equip us to build out the world’s first complete system to pack, carry, and use all your gear. That means more time, more space, and more money left to plan the next great adventure.

What’s next?

We’ve got big plans for RUX, far beyond the first bag box you order from us. If we see this vision through, 1 + 1 will equal 3 in terms of the efficiency and usability you’ll get out of each RUX and any future add-ons or accessories. We want your whole life flowing with the efficiency of an intermodal shipping system, yet the finesse of a… mountain leopard? Something like that, you get the idea. Keep your gear tight, and your plans loose!

Wait, what's with that QR code I keep seeing in the RUX window?

Like all things RUX, we’re future-proofing and thinking big. By shipping every RUX with an individual QR code, we can build out infinite back-end features online to help you manage and move your gear. From personal solutions like warranty registration and packing lists to commercial applications for inventory management, this nifty little QR code can do it all. Watch this space.

Is RUX stackable?

RUX is great for stacking when filled, or partially filled and compressed. The bistable steel corner stays are intended for easily popping the bag open and keeping it there for easy access packing. However, these stays are not structural corners. So you would want to stack the heaviest, most packed RUX at the bottom and place the empty or half-filled RUX on top.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
